How is InterAct
funded?
InterAct Ministries is a faith-based
mission that depends upon the gifts of individuals, churches
and other organizations to fund the ministry. We don’t have a a product
or service to sell that would produce the income to pay our
operational expenses, such as promotion, ministry projects
and missionary salaries. As we tell our story through
a variety of means, God plants in the hearts of His people
the desire to give. Our best story tellers are our own
staff members. We give them the responsibliity of raising
funds for us, most of which is used to pay their salaries.
How much a member is required
to raise is determined by factors such as ministry location,
type and length of assignment, and marital status. As an example, a couple from the U.S.
and serving in Russia is currently required to raise approximately
$4,000/month (US dollars) to cover their living expenses, which
would include groceries, transportation, housing, medical,
retirement funding and ministry-related expenses. Additionally,
each member is required to raise an amount for the general
operation of the mission.
Funds for living and ministry expenses may also be received
through non-employment self-support (e.g., personal retirement,
inheritance, savings); or non-ministry employment (some restrictions
may apply).
Appointees are given extensive training in support-raising techniques
that are adaptable to large and small audiences in formal and
informal settings.
