Tribe
49
Ministry Group: Tuvan
and Russian people in central/eastern
Siberia
Description/Responsibilities:Because
we have the vision to reach the 30 unreached
tribes and 11,5000 unchurched communities
living above the 49th parallel in Siberia—you are
invited to experience Tribe 49!
Tribe 49 will focus mainly on
the Republic of Tuva, which is located
on Mongolian border of Siberia and is the
geographic center of Asia. The trip will
be led by Jim & Kari Capaldo, who have
ministered in Siberia since 1999. Tribe
49 members will assist in implementing
InterAct's church-planting strategies in
Tuva.
Activities will include:
- Trek
through rugged terrain to one of the
most unreached areas of Tuva.
- 64
hours of Russian Language study at the University of Tuva (four
credit hours)
- Lead
and assist with both Youth and English
camps
- Assorted
practical work projects
- Daily
devotions and team development exercises
- A celebratory
white water raft expedition down the
Upper Yenesei River!
InterAct emphasizes a missionary-as-learner
philosophy. We will equip you with tools
to learn about and get comfortable in the culture. As you begin
to learn the culture and
language, you will have opportunities
to share your life and faith in Christ.
This program is designed for those who want to be immersed in cross-cultural ministry. You will broaden your global perspective while focusing on Siberia-specific ministry as a possible career.
2008 Dates and Fee:
This program will not be offered in
2008.
