Face
of Russia (F.O.R.)
Note: This is a vision trip for those seriously interested in mission work within Russia.
Ministry Group: Russians, indigeneous Russian groups
Description/Responsibilities: Face of Russia is a summer internship program designed to give the participant three main opportunities: 1) Learn from the indigenous culture, 2) Interact with others, 3) Impact both believers and non-believers. Participants will primarily live with host families and will have opportunities to interact both with indigenous Christians and non-Christians. Activities will include trips to both Russian villages populated by ethnic Russians, and remote villages of Siberia populated predominantly by indigenous people groups, two weeks of intense “survival Russian language,” circuit riding with Native pastors, work projects, and team-building activities. The goal is to give the participant a short but intense exposure to the vastness of mission work in Russia and see long-term missionaries raised up.
Orientation will take place in St. Petersburg. Participants will stay in the homes of host families during their stay in this historic city.
From St. Petersburg, the team will travel to Siberia and experience a completely different facet of Russian culture. Here, you will encounter another people group, language and set of customs as you share life with the indigenous, tribal people of Siberia.
The trip will conclude back in St. Petersburg with a time of debriefing and sight-seeing before returning home.
Dates and Fee: Face of Russia will be offered in 2013
